Marking the launching of a new book and 45 years since their original founding, Cheshire Homes Selangor welcomed guests of all walks of life to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Patronised and opened in 1964 by her Royal Highness Tengku Ampuan Rahimah binti Almarhum Sultan Abdul Aziz, the organisations strives to uphold the rights of disabled persons and empower them to live full and self benefitting lives.

Since then the organisation has developed and expanded; incorporating a variety of volunteers including OXCEL’s trusted advisor Dato’ Ghazali Bin Dato’ Yusoff.

We passed the ceremony well with tea and cakes, entertained by a showcase from Malaysia’s Wushu society as well as a performance from the Cheshire homes all female choir.

The spirit of the occasion could not be forgotten as the Raja Muda of Selangor approached the stage to officially launch the new book. Accepted as the new patron, the prince very kindly greeted us and others as we contemplated and reflected on the amazing good this organisation continues to offer.
