OXCEL Singgah Ramadhan 9 September 2009

The OXCEL Team headed by Dr Saiful, Ernest, Robert and Bernard left Kuala Lumpur at 8am to be at Melaka by 11am to attend an official meeting with the state Governor of Melaka and present him and his office with festive Hari Raya gifts.

We enjoyed the picturesque scenery leading to the grandiose offices of the Governor by and arrived early at approximately 10am. Greeted well by his entourage we enjoyed light hearted and jovial conversation abstaining from refreshments; in adherence of Ramadan. After a short wait we were received with the Governor’s warm and generous welcome, presenting him with gifts on behalf of OXCEL UK and Asia.

Dr. Saiful lead the conversation detailing our 2010 programme in Lausanne Switzerland and touching upon our plans and objectives for the near and distant future. The meeting was a resounding success and a positive experience for all. We left for a brief tour of Melaka to experience the beautiful and historic attractions and had time to stop by to savour the Nyonya Culinary delights which Melaka is famous for at Ole Sayang Restaurant. Robert and Bernard were deeply impressed promising themselves a return trip before leaving Malaysia.

We then turned our sites towards our next objective, the OXCEL Members’ Buka Puasa at the Restoran Rebung Chef Ismail, Bangsar. We arrived just in time to set up and receive the guests. Tempted by the delicious aroma resonating from the kitchen, we waited impatiently for the official time of Buka Puasa.

The celebrations ended but the night was not over until we had completed a late night shopping excursion to the celebrity Fazley Store in Bangsar Baru. Here OXCEL members and staff purchased festive treats and hampers for family and friends. Exhausted but contented, we returned home to our beds in anticipation of our next social event.
