The talk explored different types of Innovation that can differentiate you from your competitors and provide a sustainable competitive edge in today's globalised world.
Dato’s belief is that innovation is a direct result of our core thinking processes. If we can change the way we think, we can think critically to become more creative, triggering us to design strategies that will enable us to increase our competitiveness. Innovation requires specific ingredients and skills – all of which can be acquired and learnt.

- Become an orange (so outstanding that your competitors are not able to compete with you)
- Bring ideas from other industries into the current organisation you are in

Dato’ Dr. Kamal Jit Singh is the founder of Global Innovation Research Centre (GIRC), a strategic Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) Status thinktank. GIRC was setup to instill innovation and thinking skills in Malaysian industry, government and education sectors. He has a Doctoral degree in Strategic Management, an MBA and a Bachelors in Information Technology.
Dato’ is active in the local and regional ICT space and sits on various Government and industry and advisory boards and panels. Before establishing GIRC, Dato’ was the CEO of British Telecom’s Asian Research Centre for a period of 8 years. He is a regular speaker at many international technology conferences and a frequent columnist in “The Edge”, Malaysia’s premier business weekly. His column emphasises the usage of Innovation and Disruptive Technology as strategic competitive tools in the new economy.
